In just a few months, construction crews could begin work on what developers say will be the largest movie studio campus in the Southeast.
On Tuesday, commissioners unanimously approved a request to rezone a 105.04-acre portion of the OFS plant located near Interstate 85 and Jimmy Carter Boulevard from M-2 (Heavy Industry District) to MU-R (Regional Mixed Use District), a decision which clears the way for the development of the Atlanta Media Campus.
The Atlanta Media Campus will include sound stages, a film school, student housing, multi-family residential area, office space, a hotel and the largest studio backlot in the country.
