Despite recent signs of economic improvement, many people in Gwinnett and throughout Georgia remain jobless. As of August, 7.2 percent of Gwinnett’s labor force was unemployed. Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for August was 8.1 percent, up from a revised 7.7 percent in July.
